Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us Release Date

The Pokémon franchise gets a new feature film almost as frequently as it introduces a new monster. The 21st and latest movie, The Power of Us, arrives in international theaters this fall. If the title wasn’t enough indication, the film crams all of the Poké-flavored life lessons and camaraderie fans could ever want from a theatrical Pokémon adventure

Ash and Pikachu travel to the coastal Frau City, a town that was once rescued from destruction by the legendary Pokémon Lugia. It’s residents hold an annual, Lugia-centric celebration to forever show their gratitude. However, when a mysterious threat looks to rain on the festivities, it’s up to Ash, along with friends both new and familiar, to save Frau City and get the party back on track. While Lugia obviously plays a significant role in the story, the mythical Pokémon Zeraora also makes an appearance. The film acts a follow-up to 2017’s Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You, which essentially rebooted the series and established an alternate timeline.

The Power of Us released in Japan this past July. It will have a limited theatrical run in North America, the UK/Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand on the following dates:

November 24th, 26th, 28th
December 1st

With only four days to catch The Power of Us on the big screen, fans should visit Fathom Events to check the nearest showing and purchase tickets. What do you think of the trailer? Will you be watching it? Share your thoughts in the comments!
