Negan Coming to Tekken 7

Season 2 Characters Unveiled at Evo 2018

Little pigs, little pigs, Negan is coming to Tekken 7. To much fan-shock and delight, it looks like Negan will be one of the newest playable guest fighters to enter the King of Iron Fist tournament.

Revealed at this year’s Evo tournament in Las Vegas, Tekken 7 director Katsuhiro Harada and game designer Michael Murray took to the stage and announced a host of new DLC characters coming in the game’s second season. Via a trailer, Bandai Namco teased six new character slots, with Negan being the surprise final fighter.

Renowned for his foul-mouthed charm and cold-blooded brutality, Negan is a fan-favorite villain in both the TV series, AMC’s The Walking Dead, and the graphic novel of the same name. An icon for his look as much as he is for his morbid sense of humor, the character was teased via a silhouette, shown sporting a black leather jacket, red scarf and wielding his beloved barbed-wire laced baseball bat, Lucille.

Alongside Negan, series mainstay Anna Williams and highly requested Lei Wulong were also revealed. While both Anna and Lei received gameplay footage showcasing their fighting styles, it appears fans will have to wait before seeing Negan and his “vampire bat” in action.

Apart from his silhouette, the trailer also included voice-over lines as delivered by Jeffrey Dean Morgan who plays Negan in AMC’s The Walking Dead. A character in both the graphic novel and the TV series, it appears the in-game character of Negan will largely be based on Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s portrayal in the TV show.

With three characters revealed, three others still remain a mystery. If you want to get your hands on Negan as soon as possible, you can breathe easy (and blink and cry, for that matter) as the new season was teased to be “coming soon” to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
