Lost Soul Aside Still Impresses in Stylish New Trailer

Lost Soul Aside has been one of the most eye-popping and ambitious indie projects on the horizon. Its stunning amalgamation of stylish, Devil May Cry-style action and Final Fantasy caliber visuals turned heads when it was first revealed in 2016. The game’s most mind-boggling bullet point is the fact that it’s being made by a single person, Chinese developer Yang Bing. Not long after its reveal, Sony, impressed by the project, stepped in to help Bing fund the game, turning it into a timed PlayStation 4 exclusive.

After last appearing at this year’s Game Developer’s Conference, Sony debuted a new trailer for Lost Soul Aside during the ChinaJoy 2018 Expo. The video once again flaunts the game’s spectacular action and provides a glimpse at a mysterious female character. Take a look for yourself below.

Plot details remain sparse outside of the fact that it stars a young man named Kazer and his floating, dragon-like companion. The pair embarks on a journey to seek out crystals for unknown purposes. It’s worth noting the Lost Soul Aside now lacks a release window and is instead labeled as a “work in progress”. Bing previously stated he would try to finish the game in 2018. That appears to be out of the question, which isn’t too surprising given the project’s perceived scope.
