Fortnite Season 5 Week 9 Challenges (Plus “The Getaway”)

It's the penultimate week of Fortnite Season 5 and Epic Games have treated us to some fair challenges and a new Gamemode!

The penultimate week of Fortnite Season 5 is here and with that comes the ninth week of challenges. This week we’ll cover the usual seven challenges as well as the three special challenges released to celebrate the new special LTM – “The Getaway.” As always, there is a cheat sheet at the bottom of the article and you can find week one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, and eight challenges by clicking on the respective numbers. Let’s start off with the special challenges first.

Play 10 matches of The Getaway – Simply play and complete them to get this challenge!

Deal 500 damage to Jewel carrying opponents – The aim of this mode is to get a jewel from a supply drop on the edge of the zone to a getaway van in the sky. When someone has a jewel, they have extra health and shields but cannot shoot, so if you’re alone, kill them and wait for someone else to take it and kill them too. Just be careful, it shows up on the map if someone has a Jewel!

Pick up a Jewel in 5 different matches of The Getaway – All you have to do is pick it up. You can die right after, just pick it up.

Deal 500 damage with Explosive Weapons to opponents – This should include Grenade Launchers and Rocket Launchers but it has been known for Grenades and Sticky Grenades to count too. Rare Rocket Launchers have been removed and Epic’s drop rate has been increased, so bear that in mind!

Get 150,000 Trick Points in a Shopping Cart or ATK – Jump off hills and do some tricks… Somehow. You’ll get the points soon enough. Bouncers, Shockwave/Impulse Grenades and launchpads can help get more elevation and more time in the air.

Follow the Treasure Map Found in Shifty Shafts – This week the star is found at F6, just above Salty Springs.

Search a chest in Haunted Hills, Shifty Shafts, Lazy Links, Tilted Towers, and Risky Reels – It seems that Epic Games did listen after all, as once again you only need to search one chest from each area. Let’s hope it stays this way!

Visit 7 Different Stone Heads – These are dotted around the map where the Rifts are! You can, theoretically, rift from one to another.

Get 5 Assault Rifle Eliminations – This shouldn’t be too hard.

Eliminate Opponents in Tomato Temple – The new area, once a bloodbath, always a bloodbath. No tomato sauce for this one!

Hidden Banner – The Hidden Banner this week is on one of the cliff rocks near the bridge in E8.

As always, we have a cheat sheet for the weekly challenges by TheSquatingDog over on Reddit.
