Apple Announces 4 New Apple Devices!

Today is the day we all have been waiting for. Well, all of you Apple users anyway. The Apple 2018 Keynote! There have been leaks and rumors flying around like crazy these last few weeks, and now we can finally see what was true and what wasn’t!

The new Apple Watch Series 4 has been redesigned with a 4mm thinner chassis, 30% more screen real-estate, 50% louder speaker, haptic feedback in the “crown” of the watch which also now has a more advanced heart rate monitor inside, ceramic and sapphire backs allowing for a tougher build while still allowing signals to pass through, a new and more advanced gyroscope, Bluetooth 5.0, and a new 64-bit processor. The Apple Watch S3 was only 32-bit.

We also have the lovely feature of being allowed to use previous Apple Watch bands on the S4, and the addition of a new “fall” feature, where the watch can detect movement with the new gyroscope sensor that can detect when a person falls and will wait 5 seconds for a response from the user before contacting 911. This is a fantastic feature for the more elderly users who already use the Apple Watch as a health monitoring device. The device will also alert users if their heart rate is too high or low.

The Apple Watch Series 4 will be available on September 21st, 2018. Pre-orders will start this Friday on September 14th, with the GPS model starting at $399 and the LTE model beginning at $499.

The new iPhone lineup has brought less innovation than last year’s, but with this having the iconic Apple “S” refresh name, we have a lot more refinement. Before I dive into specs, let me clarify that, just like the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus counterpart, the only difference between the Xs and the Xs MAX is screen size. The Xs will come with a 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display, which Apple dubs the “Super Retina HD Display, with a 2436×1125 pixel resolution at 458 PPI (Pixels Per Inch). The Xs MAX will come with a 6.5 inch Super AMOLED display with a 2688×1242 pixel resolution, and the same 458 PPI.

Features – Dual-SIM (only via the internal E-SIM), Face ID, Barometer, Three-Axis Gyro, Accelerometer, Proximity Sensors, Ambient Light Sensor, BT 5.0, NFC (for things like Apple Pay), Wireless Charging, IP68 Water and Dust Resistance, and 3D Touch.

Processor – The new Apple A12 Bionic Chip

Cameras – 7MP Selfie Camera, Dual 12MP rear cameras with 2x Optical Zoom

The iPhone Xs and Xs MAX will come in three colors and storage variants; Space Grey, Gold, and Silver, with the storage options being 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB, the first time ever on an iPhone. The starting price will be $999 and $1099 for the Xs and Xs MAX respectively, with pre-orders starting this Friday on September 14th, and the devices shipping on September 21st.

Just like the iPhone 5 lineup, we have a cheaper 3rd alternative to the Xs and Xs Max in the form of the iPhone XR The iPhone 5 lineup included the iPhone 5, 5S, with added features like the now forgotten Touch-ID, and the cheaper iPhone 5C. The XR does have many similarities to its Xs counterparts but comes with a new 6.1-inch “Liquid Retina HD” Display which is a highly advanced LCD display, instead of the superior Super AMOLED displays found on the Xs and Xs MAX, running at 828×1792 pixels at 326 PPI.

Features – Dual SIM via E-SIM, Face ID, Barometer, Three-Axis Gyro, Accelerometer, Proximity Sensor, Ambient Light Sensor, BT 5.0, NFC, Wireless Charging, IP67 Water and Dust Resistance

Processor – The new Apple A12 Bionic Chip

Camera – 7MP Selfie Camera, 12MP Rear Facing Camera

Just like the iPhone 5C, the iPhone XR will come in a variety of colors including; Black, Blue, Coral, Yellow, White, and Product RED, a special version of iPhone that Apple has released in the past to help raise money for AIDS foundations. There are also three storage options; 64GB, 128GBm, and 256GB. The device will have a starting price of $749, with pre-orders opening on October 19th, and shipping on October 26th.
